St. Joseph's Square | Halifax, NS | Dexel Developments
Halifax's North End Hydrostone district is one of the city's most sought-after hotspots for stylish and convenient downtown living. Just steps away from the district's many shops and restaurants you’ll find St. Joseph's Square, a new designer residential rental building created by Dexel Developments and Dexel Architecture. The 106-unit building includes one, two and three bedroom apartments designed with style, sophistication and (local) adventure in mind.
Old Meets New. St. Joseph’s Square marries contemporary design with traditional touches that preserve the history of the area. Built on the site of the original St. Joseph’s Church, the development features a North-West facing public art installation – a monument wall – that houses the church’s intricate stained glass windows. The original limestone from the church as also been recycled, incorporated into the exterior base of the new development.
Smart Technology. St Joseph’s Square’s exterior tile was installed using a modern ventilated façade system. Marianne Abboud, Project Architect with Dexel Architecture, has used this system many times, crediting its high performance, ease of installation and affordability compared to other systems. The ventilated façade system also provides heat insulation, structural protection, breathability, sound insulation and overall energy savings for the buildings on which it is used.
Something for Everyone. Currently in its final stage of completion and already nearing capacity, St. Joseph’s Square has quickly become the perfect residence for a wide range of Haligonians. From young professionals wanting to be at the heart of the city’s vibrant arts and culture scene to empty nesters looking for a space that’s walking distance to shops, restaurants and the North End’s charming residential streets, St. Joseph’s Square truly offers something for everyone.
